About Nagpur

The winter capital ‘NAGPUR’ is a sprawling metropolis, which is located in the heart of Indian peninsula with the zero milestone situated indicating the topographical center of India. It is a major commercial and political centre of the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Nagpur is also known for Deekshabhoomi, the largest hollow stupa among all the Buddhist stupas in the world. It is the best city in India topping in livability, greenery, public transport, and health care indices. Nagpur is really popular for oranges and known as orange city. It is also known as the city of tiger in Maharashtra state.




The Vidharbha region has its own distinctive cuisine known as Varhadi or Saoji cuisine. This traditional food is famous for its hot and spicy taste. Nagpur has a vibrant street food way of life with the uniquely famous Tarri Poha, Patodi, Kadhi and Chaat being served across the city by various joints round the clock. It also has a prominent "Dhaba" culture due to the various important highways criss - crossing through the city. The city is also famous for its mouth watering sweet Orange Barfi.
